The right to a fair trial is not included amongst the principles of the European Convention on Human Rights.
Correct Answer: False
False. The right to a fair trial is very much included in the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR). It is enshrined in Article 6, which guarantees the right to a fair and public hearing within a reasonable time before an independent and impartial tribunal.
The ECHR also protects other key rights including the right to life, freedom from torture, the right to liberty, freedom of expression and the right to privacy. These rights are enforceable in the UK through the Human Rights Act 1998.
