Which TWO islands are closely linked to the UK but are not part of it?
Correct Answers: The Isle of Man; The Channel Islands
The Isle of Man and the Channel Islands (Jersey, Guernsey and others) are Crown Dependencies — territories that are closely associated with the United Kingdom but are not part of the UK itself.
They have their own governments, laws and tax systems.
The UK is responsible for their defence and international relations. They are not members of the European Union. Other British territories that are not part of the UK include the British Overseas Territories such as Gibraltar and the Falkland Islands.
