What was the most spoken language during the Iron Age?
Correct Answer: Celtic
During the Iron Age (approximately 800 BC to AD 43), the dominant people of Britain were the Celts, and the most spoken language was Celtic (or the Celtic family of languages).
This language family is the origin of modern languages including Welsh, Scottish Gaelic, Irish and Cornish.
Anglo-Saxon only arrived with the Germanic (Angles, Saxons, Jutes) invasions after the Romans departed in the 5th century AD.
